Tranquility Weighted Blankets

By Life in Good Form. Published October 14, 2026.

A Tranquility blanket’s washable cover does not make its weighted insert machine washable. American Textile Company publishes different cover arrangements for its Cool and Clean Removable Cover Weighted Blanket and Quilted Plush Weighted Blanket. Check the complete product name before choosing a cleaning method or replacement cover.

We compared the maker’s published dimensions, construction and care instructions for these two adult models. We have not washed or slept under them, measured cooling performance or selected a therapeutic weight. Other Tranquility lines need their own labels and instructions.

Identify the model before replacing its cover

The Cool and Clean product page (shop.americantextile.com) offers 12 lb and 20 lb selections. At review, those selections displayed SKUs 00103ATC and 00105ATC respectively. Its package includes a weighted blanket and removable cover, secured together with loops and ties.

The Quilted Plush page (shop.americantextile.com) lists a 12 lb blanket, displayed SKU 00026ATC, and says it is not compatible with covers sold separately. Matching outside dimensions alone therefore does not establish that a replacement cover is approved for it.

On a narrow screen, scroll the table sideways to compare both models.

Use the description’s rectangle, not a generic bed-size chart

Both product descriptions specify 48 × 72 inches. Their shared Size Chart tab also lists ordinary Twin, Full/Queen and King bedding, but its weighted-blanket row tells readers to consult the product description. Those larger bedding dimensions do not identify either weighted model.

Measure the coverage you want against that actual rectangle. Keep the selected weight with the model name; a 20 lb option does not imply a larger blanket. These published choices describe the products, not the amount of weight suitable for a particular person.

The maker’s Tranquility collection (shop.americantextile.com) also includes the BeComfy Comforter (shop.americantextile.com). Its material entry lists polyester fiber batting and its selector uses bed sizes. Do not transfer a weighted blanket’s pound rating, fill or washing restrictions to another item simply because it appears in the same collection.

Wash the removable cover; spot clean the weighted portion

For Cool and Clean, the maker permits warm machine washing of the outer cover, followed by low-heat tumble drying and prompt removal. It says no bleach and no ironing. Remove the weighted insert first and retain the cover’s own label.

The inner blanket has a different instruction: spot clean only, with no machine washing, tumble drying, bleach or ironing. A washable cover is not permission to put the whole assembly into a washer. A general hand-washing method is not supplied for this insert either.

The Quilted Plush blanket is also labeled spot clean only on its product page. Do not borrow Cool and Clean’s cover-washing directions for it. If the supplied label differs from the website or a stain needs more than spot cleaning, ask the maker for instructions for that exact item before soaking or machine washing it.

Separate construction details from comfort promises

The two pages describe small glass beads and box quilting. Cool and Clean lists polyester microfiber for its inner blanket and the cover’s top. Its underside entry uses the phrase “65% Cooling Circular Knit / 35% Polyester”; that wording does not identify the first portion with a conventional fiber name. Ask for the actual fiber label if composition matters to you.

Quilted Plush lists polyester fabrics and polyester fiber fill plus glass beads. Neither a fill description nor a cooling product name establishes a measured overnight temperature or sleep benefit. The two product pages specify adult use and say these models are not recommended for children.

Keep the product name, selected weight, SKU, dimensions, included parts and care labels together. Sources reviewed October 14, 2026. This guide covers physical product and care checks; purchase offers, stock, clinical suitability and sleep outcomes are not assessed.
