About Life in Good Form
Life in Good Form is a small independent publication about the everyday products people use to move, rest and feel more comfortable: pillows, mattress toppers, compression socks, braces, heating pads and the like.
How we work
- We start from what people actually search for, then answer that question first.
- We read makers' specifications and manuals, and health sources such as MedlinePlus, the NHS, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and professional bodies. Every guide lists its sources and the date we checked them.
- We do not run hands-on product tests and we never claim to. When we describe a product type, we say what the published evidence and specs support, and where they stop.
- We point to features and product types rather than ranking items by hype, and we say who should skip a product.
What a guide includes
Each guide opens with a short answer, then explains the features that matter for that kind of product, what the maker's specifications and instructions say, and what health sources say about who it may suit. We note when a product needs a professional's advice first, and when a maker's page and a retail listing disagree we say so instead of choosing the more flattering number.
Keeping guides current
Products, listings and health guidance change. Every guide shows the date its sources were checked, and we revisit guides when a model is replaced, a listing stops matching the maker's details or a health source updates its advice.
Not medical advice
Our guides are general information. Pain that is severe, new, getting worse, or comes with numbness, swelling, fever or weakness needs a clinician, not a product. See our medical disclaimer.
