Men's grooming
Grooming tools, label instructions, maintenance and skin-care considerations.
Grooming products work best when they match your skin and hair and are used as the label directs. These guides explain what each product type does, how dermatology and health sources describe its use, what to check on the label and how to keep tools clean. Patch test new products, stop using anything that causes irritation, and see a clinician about rashes or skin changes that do not clear up.
Start with the basics: a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer that suits your skin and sunscreen for daily use. Add one product at a time and give it a few weeks. Clean razors and trimmers after each use and replace blades on the schedule the maker gives. If a rash, ingrown hairs or irritation keep coming back, or a mole or spot changes, see a doctor or dermatologist rather than switching products again.
Pick a guide below. Each one explains what to look for and how to use the product safely. It also says when to ask a doctor or other expert first. Sources are listed at the end of every guide.
