Match the Bare Home Cotton Weighted Blanket by dimensions as well as pounds. The maker groups several weights under the same rectangular size. Buying a different weight does not always give you more coverage, and the blanket does not include a duvet cover.
This guide covers the cotton-shell weighted blanket family, using Bare Home’s current product page. It is not a review of the separate Minky Fleece version or a promise of better sleep, cooling or a medical benefit. We have not tested the blanket.
Several catalog weights share one size
Bare Home’s Cotton Weighted Blanket size guide (barehome.com) lists these combinations. These are catalog pairings, not a recommendation that a particular weight is appropriate for you.
| Dimensions | Listed weights |
|---|---|
| 40 × 60 in. | 7 or 10 lb |
| 48 × 72 in. | 12 or 15 lb |
| 60 × 80 in. | 17, 20 or 22 lb |
| 80 × 87 in. | 25 or 30 lb |
For example, the 17, 20 and 22 lb entries all use the same 60 × 80 in. dimensions. Moving between those entries changes listed weight without changing the stated rectangle. Start with the coverage you need, then consider weight separately. Our weighted blanket weight guide discusses that separate decision.
Record the blanket and cover as separate items
The product page describes a cotton shell, glass beads with fiber fill, stitched pockets and corner loops for attaching a cover. It says a cover is not included. Check the cover’s actual dimensions and attachment layout instead of relying on a Queen, King or other bed-size name alone.
A useful shopping note has separate lines for the blanket’s rectangle, its selected weight, the cover’s rectangle and the cover’s care label. That makes an incomplete bundle easier to notice before checkout. It also prevents a removable cover’s washing instructions from being mistaken for permission to wash the weighted insert in the same way.
Plan a place to dry it before buying
The current care section recommends spot cleaning, hand washing or dry cleaning. If machine washing, it specifies cold water and a gentle cycle, followed by line drying or laying flat. Match those instructions to the label supplied with your exact item before laundering.
Decide whether you have a suitable drying space and whether your appliance’s own instructions permit that blanket and load. A machine’s capacity is a separate check from the blanket maker’s washing method. If either instruction is unclear, resolve it before washing; do not infer approval from a machine’s drum size.
Do not borrow a tumble-drying routine from another weighted blanket. Different construction and labels can lead to different care requirements. For broader material and heat questions, see our cooling weighted blanket guide; a cotton shell by itself does not establish how cool this complete blanket will feel to you.
Finish with the exact item, not the family name
- Copy the selected dimensions and weight from the item you will receive.
- Confirm whether any cover is included and whether a separate one fits.
- Keep the insert’s label and the cover’s label distinct.
- Include drying space and appliance restrictions in the decision, not just the purchase price.
